Preparing for your online exam 

Before your exam, make sure you're ready by reading our guidance information. 

Carry out a systems test before scheduling your exam

You should check the system requirements and complete a system check before you schedule your exam*. You need to use the location and equipment that you intend taking the test on. Check your equipment reaches the minimum required.

*If your system test fails you should not schedule an exam until you can resolve the issue and pass the system test. If you have already scheduled your exam you should cancel your exam (within the usual 48hr cancellation period).

Get your room ready

Ensure that your desktop is clean and that you are not within arm’s reach of books, notepads, sticky notes, papers, pens, pencils, and other writing instruments/objects. Additional monitors and computers must be unplugged and turned off. Items on the wall with writing on them, such as whiteboards, will be inspected.

Terms and Conditions for Free CIMA Exam Resits

  1. Valid for Objective Test Exams; CIMA students sitting and failing at Operational Level, Management Level and Strategic Level.
  2. Valid for Case Study Exams; CIMA students sitting and failing at Operational Level Case Study only.
  3. This offer excludes Management Level Case Study, Strategic Level Case Study, Diploma in Performance Management, Cert BA and any exam not in the English language. 
  4. To receive the free exam resit at Operational Level (Objective Test and Case Study) students must have attempted & failed between 1 February & 31 July 2021. For example, no shows are excluded.
  5. To receive the free exam resit at Management & Strategic Levels,(Objective Tests) must have attempted & failed between 1 May & 31 July 2021. For example, no shows are excluded.
  6. For objective test, the free resit must be scheduled & taken within 90 days from the original sitting. No extensions are permitted.
  7. For case study exam, the free resit must be scheduled for the Operational Case Study by the following deadline dates: 8 February (February exams) 27th April (May Exams) and 27th July (August exams) 2021. No extensions are permitted.
  8. 90 days credit will start from the date CIMA processes the exam credit. Each student will be notified by email within 10 days of their exam failure that a credit has been added to their MYCIMA account.
  9. To be eligible students must have cleared any outstanding debt including their 2021 subscription fee.
  10. Ineligible students includes those where the invigilator has stopped the exam for an infringement of exam policy.
  11. Only 1 free resit will be applied during the promotional period.
  12. Students that are unsuccessful should wait to receive the email confirming their credit before scheduling their resit exam. The exam credit will be lost if the resit exam is scheduled before it been applied to your My CIMA account.
  13. This offer is valid only for Test center and CIMA online exams.
