Impact on Management Accounting Practice Award
The winner of the 2017 CIMA/AICPA Impact on Management Accounting Practice Award was announced at the AAA Management Accounting Section mid year meeting held in Puerto Rico in early January.
The prize was awarded to Bryan Stikeleather for his paper - “When do employers benefit from offering workers a financial reward for reporting internal misconduct in Accounting, Organizations and Society, Vol. 52, July 2016, Pages 1-14.
This study examines whether employees’ pay and their moral convictions influence their whistleblowing behavior and whether variation in these two key organizational factors moderates the tradeoffs involved for employers to offer financial rewards for internal whistleblowing.
The paper can be read here.
