5 October 2022, Mumbai, India – Students from Christ University were crowned the champions in CIMA International Business Game Challenge 2022, organised by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (the Association), representing the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Another team from Christ University gained second place. Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce gained third place respectively.
This business game targeted undergraduates and postgraduates. It provides an opportunity where undergraduates and postgraduates can enhance their business and team working skills, aiming to find future international business leaders. It also helps students utilise the digital working environment to deliver quality outcomes and demonstrate problem solving and leadership skills demanded by employers.
This year’s business game challenge was held virtually. Fifty-five universities across Asia Pacific, namely Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Brunei participated with a total of 768 participants forming 192 teams to participate in the business game. The top ten teams attended the final online. They had 5 days to develop business plans and present them to a panel of Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA®) designation holders, experts in finance, who evaluated and ranked each team’s submissions.
Venkkat Ramanan, FCMA, CGMA, Regional Vice President – Asia Pacific at the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, representing AICPA & CIMA said, “CIMA International Business Game Challenge is a great opportunity for students to showcase their talent in business management and digital mindsets and experience a real-life business scenario and learn people skill and leadership skill throughout the process. I believe this business game challenge would be one of the memorable experience in their undergraduate studies.”
