AICPA & CIMA highlight value of management accounting in improving public sector performance in Malaysia

14 December 2022, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – AICPA & CIMA, which together form the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, conducted a workshop with 60 Chief Accountants and Senior Accountants from 27 Malaysian government ministries to help improve public sector performance and resilience in Malaysia.

During the session, guest speaker Dr, Noel Tagoe, FCMA, CGMA, Chief Executive of Noel Tagoe & Company, a start-up firm that provides advisory, research and training services in finance, education, strategy and technology, provided some insights on how the critical role of accounting and finance professionals in fostering organisational agility, creating and communicating value and enhancing overall resilience.

Venkkat Ramanan, FCMA, CGMA, Regional Vice President – Asia Pacific at the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, representing AICPA & CIMA, said, “I am glad that the Accountant General’s Department of Malaysia recognises the value accounting and finance professionals, in particular management accountants, can bring to the public sector. Its commitment to help Chief Accountants and Senior Accountants within Malaysian ministries diversify their skills and knowledge to deliver new and innovative approaches, is truly inspiring. We look forward to further collaborating with the Accountant General’s Department of Malaysia in the future.”
