Rules of CGMA Emerging Leaders Competition 2020

1)     Identification of the organizer

3)     Competition schedule

  • First round: 07-11 September 2020
  • CIMA Quiz: 18 September 2020
  • Second round: the 1st week of October
  • Final round: the end of October or early November 
  • Winner announcement: on the day of the final round

4)     Competition rules

  • Available only for full-time university students in bachelor’s degrees or honor program.
  • Each participant can join only one team.
  • Members of a team must be from the same university/college.
  • MBA or Master level students can’t participate.
  • Members of a team may not necessarily be from the same degree or honor program.
  • Each team must have a team leader.
  • Each team shall have a team name and a slogan in English.

Round I

  • A competition will be held internally within each participating university between
    7 – 11 September 2020.
  • There is no limit to the number of competing teams in each university.
  • A University Champion Team from each university must be crowned two weeks before

CIMA Quiz before Round II

  • An online quiz run simultaneously on 18 September 2020 in order to select only six teams which will compete in Round II.

Round II:

  • Virtual competition will be held in the 1st week of October.
  • Each university will be allocated a specific time.
  • Login to Zoom at the allocated time.
  • Each team have 15 minutes to present.
  • Each team have 20 minutes Q&A with judges.
  • Judges will watch teams’ presentations from their laptops.

Round III

  • A live/online competition will be held in Warsaw at the end of October or early November.
  • Each team will need to present in front of judges and audience
  • Each presentation will take 30 minutes whilst Q&A session from judges will take 15 minutes
  • A CGMA Emerging Leaders Champion team will be crowned on the same day.

5)     Target group (who can take part in the competition)

University students from participating universities from: Poland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Russia.

6)     Indication of what is subject to evaluation in the competition task: Case Study slides and presenting Case Study solutions

Teams are expected to give solutions to the situations and challenges presented in the CIMA case study. Round 1 and 2 - each team has 15 minutes to present and 20 minutes Q&A with judges. Round 3 - each presentation will take 30 minutes whilst Q&A session from judges will take 15 minutes.

8)     Prizes

The competition’s award system covers internships and job offers, participation certificates, as well as e-learning courses and electronic gadgets of a total value of USD 5000. 

9)     Form of receipt/delivery of prizes:

Team Winners' awards will be delivered by post or e-mail.

10)  Form of announcement of winners:

Team Winners will be announcement on the competition’s web page.

11)  Complaint rules

The rules and details of CGMA Emerging Leaders Competition 2020 may be amended at any time by CIMA.

If disputes occur, the decision of CIMA shall be final.

12)  Privacy

The Privacy Policy need to be applied to all participants of the CGMA Emerging Leaders Competition 2020.
