Upcoming conferences and events

With the rapidly changing situation and seriousness of COVID-19 we have decided to cancel all face to face events until May 2021. The health and safety of all our members, students and staff is our primary concern and priority, therefore, we have been following the advice provided by Government, Public Health England, and the World Health Organisation.

Our UK events team will be looking to deliver as many of the planned events as possible virtually to ensure that you can still keep up to date with your CPD and details will be shared in due course. We will continue to monitor the situation and hope that normal service for our events programme will resume shortly.

The South West England and South Wales volunteer committee caters for over 9,000 CIMA members and students. Whatever stage you are at in your career, your local branch can be a really useful resource – from keeping you up to date on changes in legislation, to providing you with a range of fantastic networking opportunities and links to the profession.

Will James - wajamesfcma@outlook.com

Will James MBA FCMA CGMA qualified with first time passes in 1986 whilst working for the Stock Exchange. He added an MBA from Manchester Business School in 1995.

Will has served CIMA since joining the Chiltern Branch Committee as Student Representative in 1983. He has held most offices in three Branches and three Areas. Before moving back to the South West, he was an elected Member of Council for East Midlands and East Anglia (2007 to 2012) and served on a number of policy committees.

Will has worked in various Planning/Reporting/Head of Finance roles for a range of large companies. He now focuses on Finance Change/Shared Services/Offshoring (Aviva, Friends Life and Astellas).

Brought up in Hull, Will moved to the South West in 1997.  He has two sons and is step father to three adults. He and his wife have nearly finished updating their 300 year old cottage in the Cotswolds and now need to tackle the large garden!
