We are providing a face-to-face Operational Case Study (OCS), Management Case Study (MCS) and Strategic Case Study (SCS) workshops to help you in preparing for the exam.

CIMA Operational Case Study (OCS) Face-to-Face Workshop

Introduction 

The Operational Case Study (OCS) exam is essentially a virtual business role play, reflecting real life business scenarios comprising a series of time bound tasks set for students to complete based on pre-seen material, constructed with one or more fictionalised organisations based on a real business or industry.

The focus of Operational level is on the short term and integration between different disciplines expected of a management accountant working in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous business environment.  Your role as a candidate taking OCS will be a finance officer and students need to understand their role within the case study exam to produce a good answer, demonstrating knowledge and applying skills from across the syllabus.

During the examination, you will need to demonstrate: Technical skills, Business skills, People skills, Leadership skills and Digital skills which form the CGMA Competency Framework that is underpinned by Ethics, Integrity and Professionalism.  The Case Study examination is used to test a variety of skills including research and analysis, how to present information, persuasion and communication skills.

Objectives  

  • Provides an overview on the structure of Case Study examination
  • Identifying learning gaps and recommendations to close learning gaps
  • How to analyse pre-seen and answer exam questions
  • Time management and answer planning
  • How to produce a good answer, earning full potential mark

CIMA Management/Gateway Case Study (MCS) Face-to-Face Workshop

Introduction

The Management/Gateway Case Study exam is essentially a virtual business role play, reflecting real-life business scenarios comprising a series of time bound tasks set for students to complete based on pre-seen material, constructed with one or more fictionalised organisations based on a real business or industry.

The focus of Management level is on the medium term and monitoring and implementation of strategy. Your role will be equivalent to a Finance Manager and students need to understand their role within the case study exam to produce a good answer, demonstrating knowledge and applying skills from across the syllabus.

During the exam you will need to demonstrate: Technical skills, Business skills, People skills, Leadership skills and Digital Skills which form the CGMA Competency Framework that is underpinned by Ethics, Integrity and Professionalism. CIMA Strategic Case Study (SCS) Face-to-Face Workshop

Introduction

The Strategic Case Study exam is essentially a virtual business role play, reflecting real life business scenarios comprising a series of time bound tasks set for students to complete based on pre-seen material, constructed with one or more fictionalised organisations based on a real business or industry.

The focus of Strategic level is on the long-term and setting the strategy for the business. Your role will be equivalent to a Senior Finance Manager and students need to understand their role within the case study exam to produce a good answer, demonstrating knowledge and applying skills from across the syllabus.

During the exam you will need to demonstrate: Technical skills, Business skills, People skills, Leadership skills and Digital skills which form the CGMA Competency Framework that is underpinned by Ethics, Integrity and Professionalism. The Case Study exam is used to test a variety of skills including research and analysis, how to present information, persuasion and communication skills. The emphasis in the Strategic Case Study exam is the Enterprise pillar with performance and financial pillars coming together to form the CIMA Professional Qualification.
