Malaysian Institute of Accountants membership

All CIMA members are eligible to apply for admission into the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) as CIMA is a recognised professional body listed under part II of the first schedule to the accountants act, 1967.

In Malaysia, the word ‘accountant’ is protected under the provisions of the act (sections 22 and 23), which states that no one can hold himself out or practise as an accountant unless he is registered as a member of MIA.
