While finance has a long-taken advantage of technology to help drive productivity and collaboration, the goalposts have recently moved. Today’s organizations must adopt an agile finance operating model— powered by emerging digital technologies and competencies —to better support the demands of an economy driven by continuous innovation.
Presentations by Peter Simons and Utz Schäffer will provide the ground for fruitful discussions about agile finance.
Peter Simons from CIMA will present key insights from a recent report sponsored by Oracle and conducted by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants. The study surveyed more than 700 senior finance executives globally to track their digital progress across key metrics—including adoption rates of AI, advanced analytics, machine learning, and new finance skills.
Utz Schäffer from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management will give a speech on ‘Digitalization requires agility! Are controllers ready for it?’ Based on his experience with major German companies, he will discuss the implications of the agility concept for the finance function and introduce the audience to the ‘Agile Controlling Framework’ developed at WHU.
