Macquarie University – Master of Advanced Professional Accounting

***UPDATE*** New exemption policy change as of 1st October 2020!

This Master of Advanced Professional Accounting will change effective October 1, 2020. Students graduated with this degree will be eligible to get exemptions up to the Strategic level and they have to sit 4 CIMA exams (Strategic Objective tests E3, F3, P3 and Strategic Case Study) instead of 1 Strategic Case Study exam before.

CIMA & Macquarie University have a collaboration to provide Macquarie postgraduate students undertaking the Master of Advance Professional Accounting degree with a fast track route to complete the CIMA professional qualification.

The aim of the Programme is to prepare Master of Advanced Professional Accounting students for a challenging career as qualified professional accountants and allow them the opportunity to gain both the professional membership from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants® (CIMA) as a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA®) and the Master of Advanced Professional Accounting degree at the same time.

Students will be allowed to sit for CIMA’s Strategic Case Study exam during the last semester of the Master's programme. Upon passing the Strategic Case Study exam and completing the Master's programme, students will only need to submit their three years' practical experience to apply for CIMA membership and gain both the ACMA and CGMA designations.

This opportunity is available for Macquarie students enrolled in the Master of Advanced Professional Accounting commencing from session two 2013 cohort.
