Thank you for a prosperous 2018!

Dr Sara Bux – Acting CIMA Africa Regional VP

It is with great pleasure that we close off a successful year at the Association! And I would like to thank you, our members, students and stakeholders, for joining us on our journey.

It is with great pleasure that we close off another successful year at the Association!  I would like to thank you, our members, students and stakeholders, for joining us on our journey.

We live in a time of reimagining who we are, what we do and how we do it. The world around us is changing rapidly, and we have to keep up to remain relevant. Change is never easy and never without challenge. But without change, there is no progress.

We have been embracing at the Association an agile approach and accepting smart risks and failures. Our work on the future of finance, auditing in the future, blockchain, cybersecurity, and data analytics is helping to shape the future of the profession.  Our job is to equip you with the skills that will take your career beyond boundaries and I believe that this research will help us identify the skills that CGMA designation holders need to navigate the finance function of the future.

My question is, what will the business landscape look like in 20 years? What skills will we need for this new era? How will we use technology to transform the finance function? And are we truly ready? Let’s keep these points in mind throughout next year.

Among our achievements this year, we are really proud of the launch of our Africa Regional VP Blog. It represents our commitment to transformation and trust in technology. But next year you can expect more groundbreaking thought leadership, member profiles and CIMA Africa news on the ground as we celebrate CIMA’s 100th birthday.

Until then, I wish you an enjoyable holiday season and please take note of our office hours.
