CIMA action taken against practising accountants

To ensure best practice and protection of the public CIMA members in practice must meet the requirements of CIMA’s Member in Practice rules. Members who do not comply with the Rules may be subject to a number of sanctions. Below is a list of members who have failed to comply with the Member in Practice Rules and the action that CIMA has taken.

Mr Shayne Savill of Chislehurst, Kent, UK

Notification of suspension of the CIMA Practising Certificate of Mr Shayne Savill under Member in Practice Rule 9. Mr Savill failed to comply with a request by the Institute under Rule 6 (vii) to produce remedial actions following an onsite anti-money laundering compliance visit within 28 days of the request and without a reason acceptable to the Institute.

The Institute has suspended Mr Savill’s CIMA Practising Certificate effective from 10th September 2020 for 28 days pending compliance with the request or further order under the Institute’s disciplinary procedures.

Mr Nurul Alam of Hatfield, Hertfordshire, UK

Notification of suspension of the CIMA Practising Certificate of Mr Nurul Alam under Member in Practice Rule 9. Mr Alam failed to comply with a request by the Institute under Rule 6 (vii) to submit an anti-money laundering / counter-terrorist financing annual return to CIMA within 28 days of the request and without a reason acceptable to the Institute.   

The Institute has suspended Mr Alam’s CIMA Practising Certificate effective from 6th October 2020 for 28 days pending compliance with the request or further order under the Institute’s disciplinary procedures.

Mr Haroon Rashid of Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, UK

Notification of suspension of the CIMA Practising Certificate of Mr Haroon Rashid under Member in Practice Rule 9. Mr Rashid failed to comply with a request by the Institute under Rule 6 (vii) to submit an anti-money laundering / counter-terrorist financing annual return to CIMA within 28 days of the request and without a reason acceptable to the Institute.   

The Institute has suspended Mr Rashid’s CIMA Practising Certificate effective from 6th October 2020 for 28 days pending compliance with the request or further order under the Institute’s disciplinary procedures.
