Guidance and training

Understanding the risks posed and learning how to mitigate them can significantly reduce the impact of the criminal and terrorist threat.

CIMA charter crestBelow are a number of resources to help members fulfil their anti-money laundering obligations.

Online anti-money laundering course

CIMA provides a free online course for its UK members in practice on anti-money laundering / counter terrorist financing (AML/CTF).

The course takes around two hours to complete with a self assessment test at the end to help members identify whether they have understood and can apply the training. A certificate is available upon successful completion of the course. When registering members must ensure they enter their name and designatory letters as they would like them to appear on their certificate.

The course covers:

  • What is money laundering and counter terrorist financing.
  • Money laundering regulations, obligations and penalties for non-compliance.
  • Assessing the risks to the business.
  • Customer due diligence (CDD).
  • How to identify and report suspicious activity.
  • Record keeping.

Once the online course has been started, you have 28 days to complete the course (you are not required to do it all in one session). Upon completion of the course you are not required to complete it again once you have finished, though you can do so if you wish at a later date. Please note that the course is limited to CIMA members and it will only produce a certificate in their name.

Register and access the course.

If you are experiencing technical difficulties with the online course please contact support@skillcast.com.
