Frequently asked questions regarding suspension of services in Russia and Belarus

Are you conducting business in Russia and Belarus?

We are suspending indefinitely the sale and delivery of in-market services to Russia and Belarus, including the provision of activities for AICPA and CIMA members, CIMA students and examinations, and services to corporate customers.

We acknowledge this will affect many members and students who are caught up in the situation. Full details of this business decision can be found through our website.

Are you complying with Government Sanctions?

We are complying with the economic and trade sanctions implemented by governments.

I am a Russian or Belarus resident…

Why are you stopping business nor supporting members and students in Russia and Belarus?

We remain deeply saddened by what is happening in Ukraine and fully support a swift and peaceful resolution. As a result of the current situation, we have decided to suspend indefinitely the delivery of all in-market services and activities to Russia and Belarus. Please refer to our website statement for more information.

If I am a fully paid up CIMA member, can I still use my designatory letters?

If you are a member resident in Russia and Belarus, you will not be able to use your [ACMA, FCMA, CGMA] designation as your membership status is suspended.

I have a registered address in Russia/Belarus, can I access resources?

No, we cannot conduct business in Russia and Belarus and have suspended indefinitely the sale and delivery of services there, including access to suspect accounts there.

What if I change my "address" to outside of Russia or Belarus?

Once your account is suspended, you will not be able to access your account. However, if your residency status changes to become a permanent resident of another country, you can contact our Contact Centre and ask for your account to be reactivated.

Why have you inactivated my account?

We have made a business decision to suspend indefinitely in-market activities in Russia and Belarus. Due to this, your account is suspended.

Why can’t I access my MYCIMA account?

Because you are resident in Russia/ Belarus and we have suspended the provision of in market activities, this includes no further access to your MY CIMA account.

I have paid my annual members/ student subscription and now want a refund.

We are suspending your account and not providing a refund. We will instead apply a credit against your account as you have paid already. We will hold this credit until such time as your account is reactivated.

Are you able to provide receipts, exam transcripts, letters of good standing to me or my employer?

No. We have suspended indefinitely the sale and delivery of services to Russia/Belarus. If you hold a CIMA certificate or diploma, you can continue to provide details to your employer.

However, if you are a member, you will not be able to use your [ACMA, FCMA, CGMA] designation as your membership status is suspended.

Will my CIMA certificate/diploma be still valid?

Yes, for certification and diploma, but not for membership status If you hold a CIMA certificate or diploma, you can continue to provide details to your employer.

I have paid for a service, conferences, course but can no-longer access it.

We have suspended indefinitely the provision of in-market services and support to residents and business based in Russia/ Belarus. We will hold a credit against your account.

Can I apply for the benevolent fund?

Members will need to apply directly to the Benevolent as this is managed as a separate entity to CIMA.

Students

I have paid for and plan to sit the Russian/ CIMA Certificate in Performance Management in Russian/ CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting. Will this go ahead?

All CIMA examinations in Russia/ Belarus have been suspended indefinitely. We will not be providing refunds, but holding credits for when our activities are reactivated.

If I travel to another country outside of Russia/ Belarus, can I take my exam?

Accounts of residents of Russia and Belarus have been suspended. This means you cannot take an exam in any country (including remote tested exams)

Our examinations policy will only be offered to those with proof of residency or permanent work visas valid to the country where the exam is taking place.

Why can’t I continue with my CIMA studies?

Because you are resident in Russia/ Belarus and have suspended the provision of in market activities and support, this includes for CIMA studies.

I have an unused exam credit/ exam voucher, can I use this at some point in the future or get a refund?

Your account is currently suspended so we are not able to provide a refund. We will provide a credit against your account for exam credits/ vouchers. We will hold such credits until such time as your account is reactivated.

Will my credit be extended beyond one year?

Yes, this will continue to be held on the suspended account.

Can you provide any student support for me as a Russia/ Belarus based student?

No. We have suspended indefinitely the provision of in-market services and support to members and students resident in Russia/ Belarus at this time.

I am an exam complete student and want to apply for membership. How do I do this?

We have suspended indefinitely the provision of in-market services and support to members and students resident in Russia/ Belarus currently. This includes applications for membership.

Will I be able to sit exams/continue my studies in the future?

At this point in time services are suspended indefinitely, we will continue to monitor and review the situation.

I have already submitted my practical experience requirements (PER) application, what happens to my application?

We are unable to process your PER application as we have suspended all services to Russia and Belarus.

Can I apply for the benevolent fund?

Members will need to apply directly to the Benevolent as this is managed as a separate entity to CIMA.

Will my February 2022 case study exam be marked, and results released?

The exam will be marked and the results will be published when accounts are taken out of the suspended status.

Members

Can I continue to use my designation and credentials as a paid-up member living in Russia/ Belarus?

Your membership status has been suspended and made inactive and like a resigned or lapsed member you cannot use your designations at this time.

Am I able to apply for membership remission?

This is not available. We have suspended indefinitely the provision of in-market services and support to residents and business based in Russia and Belarus.
