The rate of unpredictability is growing with the increasing pace of disruptive technological change, unpredicted geopolitical events and tensions, sustainability pressures and now the uncertain scale and length of the current virus pandemic.

Programme outline

The agile finance manager

  • We are living through an acceleration in the pace of uncertainty, shocks and business change.  Our colleagues in IT related fields are championing ‘lean’ ‘agile’ approaches to activity management. This module will help you to reflect on how you can build more resilience, alertness and agility into your role and into your business.

Financial forecasting in uncertainty

  • Forecasting future financial performance is not easy and becomes even more difficult in increasingly uncertain times.  The quest for certainty before investing can block business growth and stifle innovation.  This module will help you to reflect on your forecasting skills and approaches to make them fit for uncertain times.

Harnessing technology

  • A further uncertainty is the pace of technological change.  The revolution driven by new tools such as robotic process automation, intelligent search, visualisation, big data and business analytics has the potential to impact deeply on the scope and skillsets of the finance role.  This module will provide a bite sized explanation of the concepts and will help you to reflect on the shape and skills required in a future finance function role.

The course starts at 10.00am and finishes at 13.00pm
