Supporting your students

Support your CIMA students on their pathway to becoming a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) by providing them with the relevant information they need to pass their exams. All the information below will help you advise your CIMA employees and point them in the right direction for support.

There are a number of resources available for students on the Study Planner, our online community where students access free study materials and connect with other students all over the world to share tips and experiences. They have to log-in with their CIMA Contact ID to access all materials.

It is strongly advised that students visit the Study Planner to be kept up to date with their studies.

Exam scheduling is now available online for all CIMA exams:

  • Certificate in Business Accounting exams
  • Professional Qualification objective tests
  • Professional Qualification case study exams
  • Islamic Finance exams
  • Certificate in Global Business Services exams

All exams are ‘on-demand’ and can be booked up to 48 hours before taking an exam, except case study exams, which are only available to sit four times a year.

On completion of the CIMA qualification and becoming a CIMA member, students are then automatically entitled to the CGMA designation which is powered by CIMA and our joint venture partners, AICPA (the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants).

To become a CIMA member and a CGMA designation holder, students must have passed all their exams and have gained a minimum of three years relevant practical experience (PER) which CIMA will need to verify.
