CIMA council member honoured by British Accounting Association

CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) Council member, Professor Trevor Hassall FCMA, has been honoured for his contribution to accounting education by the British Accounting Association Education Special Interest Group.

The British Accounting Association Education Special Interest Group awarded Professor Hassall at their annual conference in Seville on 21 May 2008. Professor Hassall received the accolade for his active and lasting involvement in accounting education throughout his career.

Professor Hassall, a CIMA fellow, is currently the Professor of Accounting Education at Sheffield Hallam University where he heads the Accounting and Business Education Research Unit. As a CIMA council member, Professor Hassall chairs the Examinations and Assessment Oversight Board and sits on the Lifelong learning committee. Professor Hassall is also a member and former chair of the Expert Review Group for CIMA and was involved in the development of CIMA's syllabus and examinations.
