Outline
- PAYE system, including the new real time information changes.
- How the new 50% income tax rate is applied.
- National insurance changes, such as Upper Accruals Point and changes to contracting-out from 2012.
- New rules on disguised remuneration.
- Pension changes, including increased state pension age, reduced tax limits, and introduction of new schemes called NESTs.
- Statutory payments and redundancy pay.
- Maternity-related issues, such as entitlement during maternity leave and changes to paternity leave.
- Valuation of benefits in kind, including changes for company cars.
- Student loan repayment scheme.
- Rights to paid and unpaid time off work, and right to request flexible working.
- Attachment of earnings orders and similar.
- National minimum wage and working time directive.
- Calculation of gross pay and what may be deducted from pay.
- Relevant aspects of employment law and human resources management.
5.5 CPD hours (where appropriate)
The course starts at 9.30 and ends at 4.30. Morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea are provided.
