A greater understanding of the key requirements of the IPSAS, disclosure requirements and practical implications.
International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) are standards issued for use by public sector entities around the world. They aim to improve the quality of general purpose financial reporting by public sector entities.
The UK public sector applies accounting guidance that is broadly consistent with IPSAS.
The UK public sector has been using IFRS as adopted by the EU since 2009/10 onwards, however IPSAS are relied on where they cover issues not covered by IFRS or IAS.
Speaker Details
The speaker will be drawn from a pool of subject specialists who are qualified professionals. Having worked for leading organisations they will bring their subject to life by relating the course content to real life case studies.

- Scope of the accounting standards.
- Key IPSAS (including inventories, property, plant and equipment, provisions, group accounting and financial instruments).
- Practical issues.
The programme starts at 9.30am, with registration and coffee from 9.00am, and ends at 4.30pm. Lunch and refreshments are provided.
