The speaker will be drawn from a pool of subject specialists who are qualified professionals. Having worked for leading organisations they will bring their subject to life by relating the course content to real life case studies.
Outline
- the VFM/efficiency and continuous improvement agendas within a national and local context
- what VFM is
- what information is required to assess whether service delivery represents value for money (e.g. an appropriate balance between cost and performance) and know how to benchmark against other organisations
- challenging how services (or activities within services) have been prioritised on a VFM basis
- the basics of BPI and process mapping and how this can be used to improve value for money
- stakeholder management methodology as part of a value for money audit
- how to challenge whether business change proposals represent good value for money and evaluate the success of business change projects
- how to contribute to a stronger culture of managing performance (including baselining cost and performance information and measuring improvement)
The course starts at 9.30am, with registration and coffee from 9.00am, and ends at 4.30pm. Lunch and refreshments are provided.
