Visiting Professor Lecture 2006 with Professor Joan Luft

16 December 2005 051216

16 December 2005

CIMA is delighted to announce that Professor Joan Luft, of Michigan State University, will be delivering the 2006 CIMA Visiting Professor Lecture.

The lecture, entitled “Innovations, fads and long term value in management accounting”, is to be delivered at CIMA offices, London, on Thursday 26th January 2006 at 6:00pm.

Over the last 15 years, management accountants have seen the rise and fall of numerous innovations and new techniques. Professor Joan Luft will be speaking about which of these developments have had the staying power to make a positive impact on business and which are simply fads. Professor Luft will discuss whether innovations such as activity-based costing, balanced scorecards, economic value added, and strategic management accounting, have provided the basis for productive partnerships, between accountants and managers, or whether they are merely fads.

Places for the CIMA Visiting Professor Lecture are strictly limited but if you are interested, please contact Tim Porter in CIMA’s Technical Department. Tel: 0208 849 2220 or research@cimaglobal.com

Professor Luft’s visit is in association with Manchester Business School, one of the UK and Europe’s top business schools, where she will be speaking on Tuesday 31st January 2006. http://www.mbs.ac.uk/
