CIMA (the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) has joined IFAC (the International Federation of Accountants) and a number of accountancy bodies from across the world to launch the IFAC KnowledgeNet, which will be available on www.cimaglobal.com/resources from today (2 October).
An innovative online resource, the search engine is the first of its kind to be aimed at accountants in business and will provide them with a one-stop means of accessing leading articles, good practice guidelines and cutting-edge tools and techniques.
CIMA is dedicated to furthering the science of management accountancy and has been working alongside IFAC to develop the specialist online function for the past four years. All of the content available has been provided by professional accountancy bodies – particularly those, like CIMA, that focus specifically on serving the needs of business and management accountants.
Like other search engines, the IFAC KnowledgeNet will scan websites for key terms and phrases and will deliver the results in terms of relevance. Unlike other search engines, its search function will deliver highly targeted information based on an indexing of documents from the websites of the IFAC member bodies involved.
Users of the IFAC KnowledgeNet will find high quality, relevant information on a wide range of financial and management accountancy topics including; strategy, management, budgeting, planning, corporate governance, risk management and professional development.
Charles Tilley, Chief Executive, CIMA and IFAC Board member said:
“CIMA is committed to providing its members and students around the world with access to the most up-to-date information possible in order that they remain at the forefront of their profession. This is crucial in an increasingly complex global environment.
“We are proud to have assisted IFAC in the development of the KnowledgeNet resource, which we believe will prove invaluable to business accountants around the world.”
