Enterprise governance
Enterprise Governance is a way of structuring organisations so that the needs of corporate governance are balanced with those of everyday business management. In striking this balance, it encourages companies to concentrate on driving forward those activities that will best benefit their company.
CIMA has joined forces with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) to release a major report on enterprise governance. Enterprise Governance: Getting the Balance Right (PDF 739KB) includes an analysis of corporate successes and failures in 27 case studies in 10 countries. As part of this report, CIMA has developed a Strategic Scorecard as a means of avoiding the sort of strategic failures that were apparent in the case studies.
To understand the basic concept and approach of Enterprise Governance, read the initial discussion paper (PDF 35KB) issued at the outset of the project, or the executive summary (PDF 152KB) to the report.
