About the certificate authors
The CIMA Certificate in Islamic Finance has been developed and authored by a team employed by the International Institute of Islamic Finance Inc.
A range of experts in both Islamic and conventional finance also contributed to each stage of development and qualification review to ensure technical accuracy, relevancy and international remit.
International Institute of Islamic Finance Incorporated
The International Institute of Islamic Finance Incorporated (IIIF Inc.) is a leading centre in the development of human resource capability in Islamic finance. IIIF was established to fulfil the need for Islamic finance knowledge globally and to produce professionals who can lead in this complex market.
In addition to education and training activities, the institute also provides Shari'ah advisory services, product development consultancy, and research and development for institutional and corporate clients in Islamic financial services.

Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar - President/CEO
Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar is the President/CEO of IIIF Inc. and of Amanie Business Solutions Sdn. Bhd. He was previously vice chancellor at the International Islamic University, Malaysia.
He received his first degree in Shari'ah from the University of Kuwait in 1988, a PhD from the University of St. Andrews, UK, in 1993, and an external Bachelor of Jurisprudence in 2002, from the University of Malaya.
Dr. Mohd Daud is the authority on Islamic legal theory and Islamic finance in Malaysia. He is currently chairman of the Central Shari'ah Advisory Council of the Central Bank of Malaysia and a member of Shari'ah Advisory Council of Securities Commission of Malaysia. He is also a member of the Shari'ah boards of many financial institutions around the world.
Dr. Syed Musa Alhabshi
Dr. Syed Musa Alhabsi is a principal consultant with Amanie Business Solutions, providing advisory, research and training services to the Islamic financial industry.
He has conducted Islamic finance training through public seminars and in-house training programs for various financial, audit, supervisory and rating institutions in London, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. He has also conducted research providing policy direction for the future development of the industry globally.
Dr. Syed Musa Alhabshi was previously an associate professor in the faculty of business administration at Tun Abdul Razak University (UNITAR). After obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration from the International Islamic University, Malaysia, he obtained a Doctor of Business Administration (Accounting and Finance) from Strathclyde University, UK.
CIMA Cert IF Advisory Group
Five members on the qualification advisory group are responsible for the qualification's development and its continuous improvement:

CIMA also worked with the following technical editors:
- Mr Yusuf Karbarhi (Cardiff Business School, UK), technical editor on the accounting and analysis of Islamic financial institutions module
