Technical information services
CIMA supports its members and students with its Technical Information Service (TIS) for their work and CPD needs.
The TIS team consists of both information specialists and accounting specialists who work closely together to create and find authoritative information to help members resolve their work related technical queries.
Our accounting specialists help CIMA members and students with the interpretation of guidance on financial reporting, financial management and performance management, as defined in the CIMA Official Terminology 2005 ed.
As part of the members' CPD Centre, TIS has created a number of Topic Gateways. These provide information on a variety of topics at different levels from a basic definition, through an overview and more in-depth information, and signposting to even more resources.
The CPD Centre also offers a number of electronic resources to CIMA members, and the TIS information specialists are happy to share their researching expertise to help members to get the most from these resources.
The TIS team compiles reading lists for CIMA's members and students. These identify a selection of books, journal articles and websites on a wide range of topics from Forensic Accounting to Negotiation Skills.
Many members have asked us what a particular abbreviation or post-nominal qualification is, so we have compiled a list of accounting and business acronyms with links to further information where possible.
