Academic research

CIMA's research programme is designed to promote and develop the science of management accountancy as stipulated in our Royal charter.

We encourage leading academic and practitioner researchers who are exploring issues and providing fresh topics of interest to CIMA members, to apply for research grants.

'CIMA not only bridges practice and research, it spreads innovative practice, advocates sustainable performance and stimulates debate.'  Wim van der Stede, CIMA Professor

Academic grant programme

Every year, CIMA offers academics and practitioners grants to undertake groundbreaking management accounting research.

We have now launched our 2015/16 Seedcorn Funding Initiative for early career researchers and experienced researchers looking to undertake a feasibility study.

We have also launched calls for research proposals on the topics of (1) Stewardship and Trust (2) Costing and (3) Analytics.
