CIMA is a founding member of Professions for Good (P4G), a public information and awareness initiative that seeks to further understand the professions’ collective contribution to the UK’s society and economy.
Following the 2009 Milburn-led panel on fair access to the professions – which highlighted poor access to the professions for talented individuals from both low and middle income families – several professional bodies have begun to look at ways to measure and improve social mobility. They have commissioned Spada, a research and communications consultancy, to produce a social mobility toolkit.
Spada would value CIMA members’ insights, collected via this survey, to help shape this toolkit. The survey will run until Monday 12 December 2011. It will take less than five minutes to complete. All responses will remain entirely anonymous and this data will be used for research purposes only.
If you wish to only preview the survey and do not want your response to be taken into account, please do not press the ‘Done’ button on the final page.
About the toolkit
The toolkit will be freely available online from early 2012. It aims to guide professional bodies and firms in collecting data from their staff on a regular basis, helping them understand the socio-economic make up of their organisation and improve its diversity over time.
At its core will be a list of proposed indicators for organisations to track. With your help in this survey, we would like to identify the indicators that are most important to understanding social mobility.
