The Polytechnic of Namibia has become Namibia’s first tertiary institution to receive international accreditation from CIMA. Graduates of the Polytechnic of Namibia’s Bachelor of Technical Accounting and Finance programme will receive exemptions on up to one third of the CIMA examinations.
Samantha Louis, regional director for CIMA Southern Africa, said: ‘It is important to the economies of developing countries on the African continent to increase the number of skilled professionals in business. As infrastructures are set up for smaller countries to compete in the global market, qualified professionals are of paramount importance to both business and government.’
CIMA launched in Namibia in 2007 because of its positive outlook for future growth.
