Spellmaster Season Two in Sri Lanka

July 2009

CIMA Sri Lanka will hold its popular nationwide spellmaster for students again this year.

The spellmaster is a spelling competition that was introduced to promote and develop the English language skills of students in a fun and competitive manner.

Last year’s winner, Ronali Perera, who beat 1,200 to the spellmaster prize, said: ‘By taking part in this competition, I was able to interact with students from many areas in Sri Lanka which in itself was a valuable experience.’

The competition will be held at a national level in collaboration with the Department of Education and will take place in all 25 districts.

Prizes in excess of Rs 1 million are on offer.
