Suite of qualifications





CIMA's Islamic finance qualification structure reflects the evolving requirements in business.

The CIMA qualifications in Islamic finance are the first suite of qualifications offered by a professional chartered accounting body that focus on the dynamic and fast growing area of Islamic finance.

The suite will appeal to a wide range of professionals – from those with little or no knowledge to people with an advanced understanding of Islamic finance.

The structure

There are three levels of qualifications:

  • CIMA certificates in Islamic finance
  • CIMA diploma in Islamic finance (CDIF)
  • CIMA advanced diploma in Islamic finance (CADIF)

Study method

The qualifications in Islamic finance are all self study, distance learning qualifications which allow you to progress at your own pace.

Taught options are available through CIMA’s approved partners. Enrolment is direct through CIMA, or through one of our approved partners.

Professionals from finance, accountancy and law, to those in manufacturing, fossil fuel extraction and almost any other  industry or sectors seeking to trade or who seek finance for future investment in a Shari’ah compliant manner need to improve their skills and credentials.

Which qualification is right for you?

CIMA certificates in Islamic finance – newcomers to Islamic finance and/or those looking to further their knowledge and understanding in specific areas of Islamic finance.

CIMA diploma in Islamic finance – those with a good knowledge of one or more of the key areas of Islamic finance but who require or benefit from a broader knowledge. This qualification will increase your confidence when dealing with Islamic financial institutions or when coming to grips with the products and services offered by this sector.

CIMA advanced diploma in Islamic finance – those with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the wider field of Islamic finance, but who are looking to broaden their understanding of the strategies which underpin success in the industry and develop skills in applying their knowledge to the development of products and services. This qualification will explain the various strategies currently adopted and expand their skills in applying principles and their level of innovativeness in generating new Islamic finance products.
