Exams
Our certificate in business accounting is examined by computer based assessment.
To enter:
Find your nearest accredited CBA assessment centre
If you are not studying at a college, or if your college does not offer CBA, search the list of accredited CBA centres for your nearest centre.
Arrange to sit with a centre. You do NOT enter CBA with CIMA
You can sit assessments at any time of the year. Each centre decides when they offer assessments. Speak directly to them to arrange a date and time.
Pay assessment fees to the centre
You pay the assessment fee to the centre, NOT to CIMA. The fee for 2012 is GBP47 per subject assessment. Centres may charge additional administration fees.
Try the CBA software first
Objective test questions are used in CBA. Try our online demonstration.
2011 syllabus students should note that the questions used in this demonstration are from the 2006 syllabus, and may not be relevant to the 2011 syllabus exams.
Take the assessment
Receive results and feedback when you finish
You will see your results and indicative feedback onscreen as soon as your assessment has finished. (It will take between five and seven days for your results to show in your MY CIMA account).
If you are successful, you will receive a certificate of achievement and your exam status will automatically be updated at CIMA.
If you are unsuccessful, the feedback will show where you should focus your studies in the syllabus. You can arrange your resit when you are ready.
Progressing to the professional qualification
You must:
- pass all five certificate computer based assessments (unless you received exemptions) before sitting any operation or management level papers
- complete all computer based assessments by 1 March to be eligible to sit any operational/management papers in May, and by 1 September to sit in November.
