Frequently asked questions

I am going to work as a member in practice overseas - can I do this if registered?

Answer

You must hold a practicing certificate if you are going to undertake practice work, either in the UK or overseas.

However, it is important that you familiarise yourself with the local legislation regarding accountancy work and take the appropriate professional indemnity insurance to ensure you are covered for any problems that may arise.

It is also important that you ensure you are competent in the work undertaken. Further guidance is available in CIMA's code of ethics.
