The vast majority of members will have to meet CIMA's CPD policy requirements, whatever role or industry they work in.
Where a member does not have a professional role, there is no requirement to undertake CPD. Examples of those that are exempt from CPD are members who are retired, unemployed, on long term sick leave, on maternity leave, or who are taking career breaks.
However, CIMA strongly urges members who are exempt for the above reasons still undertake CPD if they intend to return to work.
