An explanation of the working of the venture capital and private equity industry, this course gives practical instructions on analysing and structuring transactions, including buy-outs and buy-ins.

This course will be of benefit to accountants, financial advisers, lawyers, corporate executives and others who wish to understand the working of venture capital/private equity.

In particular, it is an essential introduction to the industry for new recruits to private equity firms.

  • Determining an appropriate deal structure

Legal and technical issues

  • Investor agreements
  • Regulatory issues
  • Review of EVCA private equity portfolio valuation reporting standards

Basic Excel skills and a familiarity with financial statements are needed. No prior experience of venture capital/private equity is assumed.

The course starts at 9.00am on each day.  Lunch and refreshments are included, but not accommodation.
