Challenge material and format
The first stage of the CIMA Global Business Challenge consists of preparing a report based on a case study and a scenario.
The challenge material will be available to you upon completing full registration for your team.
Once you complete the full registration process, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a link directing you to this information. You should analyse the case study based on the scenario given.

Please note: changes cannot be made once materials are submitted.
Requirements may vary slightly by region. Please refer to your regional page for more information.
Report format
- format: All reports must be submitted electronically in MS Word 2007 or PDF format
- layout: Left aligned, 1.5pt spacing, 1 inch margin on all sides
- font: All reports must be written in Arial, 12pt
- word count: 3000 words (appendices do not contribute to the word count)
- cover page: Team name, name of participants, name of university and report title must be clearly written on the cover page.
Presentation format
- five minute introduction - this will include an introduction video (requirements and specification will be available to all shortlisted teams)
- 20 minute presentation on the case study
- 10 minute Q&A session
- all presentations must be presented using MS PowerPoint 2007.
Two page synopsis format
- the two page synopsis should be a condensed version of your report, which gives some background information and key facts that support your presentation. It will be given to the judges prior to your presentation
- the synopsis must be submitted electronically in MS Word 2007 or PDF format
- it must be written in Arial, 12pt, left aligned, 1.0pt spacing, 1 inch margin on all sides.
Submission
- regional / country finals: All regional / country level submission date can be found on the calendar page
- global final: The introduction video, presentation slides, along with the two page synopsis, must be submitted to your local CIMA office by the published date.
