Do you sometimes find yourself agreeing when you don't agree, saying yes when you mean no, feeling uncomfortable expressing your opinion and frustrated when dealing with aggressive and/or difficult people? Are you scared that if you're assertive, people won't like you or think you're aggressive? Do you want to be more confident and able to deal more effectively with your personal and professional life? If you answer yes to one or more of these questions, then this course is for you.

What you can gain

Discover, through highly interactive and practical facilitation, how to be more assertive and confident in yourself and your abilities.

Outline

How to:

  • distinguish assertiveness from passive, aggressive and manipulative behaviour and the personal, professional and financial consequences of each type of behaviour
  • define and enforce your own personal and workplace rights and how to assert them effectively
  • increase presence, confidence and charisma
  • become aware of how you currently handle conflict and how to expand and develop your conflict-handling repertoire
  • develop a variety of assertiveness skills, tools and techniques and know when to apply them, including communication skills, saying no and handling difficult people
  • develop a personal development plan setting out assertive solutions to real-life situations by applying what you've learnt.
