CIMA qualifications focus on business and deliver much more than just accounting knowledge.
As students progress through the CIMA syllabus, the focus on developing skills shifts from knowledge-based learning to application and analysis, meaning they can directly apply their skills to supporting the needs of your business.
CIMA members are not only financially qualified but also professionally trained in business management, capable of advising on business strategy and risk management while upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.
CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting
The CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting offers a grounding in the basics of management accounting, financial accounting and business, and forms the basis of the CIMA Professional Qualification.
Employees studying the certificate level gain a better understanding of the fundamentals of business and finance, allowing them to:
- Make informed business decisions based on skills developed.
- Develop relevant learning which meets the needs of finance and non-finance staff.
- Gain the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting and the letters CIMA Cert BA upon successful completion of the five modules.
The CIMA Professional Qualification
The Professional Qualification encourages step by step development of finance and business knowledge and the skills required by today’s businesses.
The four levels of the qualification are split into three ‘pillars’. The pillars are designed to cover a range of business areas, not just finance. The levels encourage progressive, constant development of knowledge, ensuring your employees have exactly the skills you need.
Students who complete the CIMA Professional Qualification progress to full CIMA membership, becoming become Chartered Global Management Accountants with the designatory letters ACMA and CGMA.
CGMA designation holders are skilled business strategists who can link the board’s objectives and the rest of your organisation, guiding critical business decisions and creating sustainable business success.
CIMA gateway routes
Members of recognised professional accounting bodies and graduates of relevant master’s degrees can also join CIMA through the accelerated gateway route.
Passing one 3-hour examination (based on a combination of CIMA’s three management level papers) allows candidates to enter the CIMA professional qualification at the strategic level.
