Two members of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) are today celebrating as they are returned as members of parliament.
Sarah Mc-Carthy Fry has been elected Labour Party MP for Portsmouth North where she worked as financial controller for a multi-national engineering company operating in the aerospace and defence sector. This is particularly relevant to Portsmouth, where the local economy is still heavily dependent on defence. Sarah currently works in the local area, but has spent time working in the United States and Germany.
Michael Foster has been elected Labour Party MP for Worcester for a third term. A lifelong supporter of Birmingham City FC, Michael is best known for introducing the Wild Mammals (Hunting with Dogs) Bill 1997 but has also made major contributions as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Lifelong Learning and Higher Education Minister.
