CIMA and IoD join together to create the Diploma in Company Direction
04 May 2005
The on-going debate about corporate governance has meant that companies need to ensure directors ' both executive and non-executive ' understand and comply with the law. It is vital they are up-to-date with best practice and current business thinking.
Against this background, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Institute of Directors (IoD) have joined forces to create the IoD/CIMA Diploma in Company Direction. The programme reflects the issues and concerns facing CIMA members today. It covers aspects of corporate governance, directors' responsibilities, and strategy on how to improve business performance. The programme provides delegates with an excellent opportunity to meet, network, and learn from their peers in other organisations. Successful completion of this Diploma can lead to the IoD's professional qualification, Chartered Director, which demonstrates the ultimate in directorial professionalism.
Commenting on this new initiative, CIMA President, Professor Roland Kaye, said 'This is an excellent and unique partnership between CIMA and the IoD to deliver the highest quality of applied training for existing and aspiring directors.'
