The awards have been given based on the overall highest mark gained at Intermediate and Final level of the CIMA Professional Chartered Management Accounting qualification.
The two winners working in the NHS Finance Management Training Scheme are:
- Lorna Harper - CIMA NHS Student Excellence Award winner at Intermediate level
- John Allen - CIMA NHS Student Excellence Award winner at Final level
CIMA will be formally congratulating both winners at an Awards presentation on 20 April where they will both be presented with a certificate and an Apple iPod each.
Further congratulations to Lorna Harper in achieving the highest mark in the "Management Accounting Decision Making" paper at Intermediate level. John Allen has also received a further award for achieving the second highest overall mark at Final level.
Robert Jelly, CIMA Director of Education, said:
"The NHS is now the largest single employer of Chartered Management Accountants in the UK. We are impressed with the high level of commitment demonstrated by the NHS in training CIMA students and employing fully qualified Chartered Management Accountants to take on management roles."
He added:
"The skills for which CIMA members and students are renowned in the private sector are increasingly being used in the public sector to ensure that the maximum value is created from the limited resources available."
These NHS students should be extremely proud of their achievement and we wish them every success in their promising careers."
He added: "We hope the success of CIMA students in the NHS continues."
