Annual review clarifies CIMA is still focused on 2010 strategy

05 May 2005

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has published its annual review for 2004 and the review clearly shows that the Institute is focussed on its medium-term strategy for 2010 and that significant inroads have been made.

Highlights from the annual report include:

  • 4 percent growth in student numbers and a 4.3 per cent increase in membership
  • Employer demand is strong with a net growth of over 700 new partners on the CIMA Training programme
  • UK member and student surveys show 79 per cent and 89 per cent satisfaction respectively
  • CIMA's new IT system implemented in 2003 has contributed to a 30 per cent reduction in customer processing times and a 50 per cent decrease in printing, mailing and administration costs.

Roland Kaye, CIMA President, commenting on the annual review, said, 'CIMA has continued to build on the success of 2003 in which CIMA was the fastest growing CCAB body in terms of members. Over the past year membership has continued to grow and now sits at 65,000, while our student body has grown to just under 85,000. These two figures represent an increase of 4.1 per cent in overall member and student growth in 2004

However, CIMA is not only focussed on hitting the right numbers. We represent a gold standard for quality and are determined to provide the best possible qualifications tailored to the needs of employers and employees. The response of all our stakeholders to the new-generation qualifications and new brand identity launched last year illustrates the significant progress we have made in meeting our medium-term strategy for 2010.'
