Computer based assessment
Computer based assessment (CBA) is the method used for the five certificate level subjects.
CBA can be taken at any time, allowing students to progress through the certificateat their own pace.
Computer based assessment:
- delivers exam questions to the candidate
- receives answers from the candidate
- marks answers as correct or incorrect
- totals marks achieved within a whole assessment session
- gives immediate results - pass or fail.

Become a CBA centre
CIMA tuition providers can become CBA centres. This allows your college to run CBA for all certificate level subjects. You will also be able to offer reassessment to unsuccessful students when you wish.
For more information please email cba@cimaglobal.com.
Technical requirements
CBA uses assessment software which will give you access to the web based CBA administration system.
You will need a centre administrator who will be the main contact point for CIMA and will be responsible for using this system to register students, allocate and download assessment tokens, upload results, and print certificates after assessments.
A supervisor must be present for all assessments.
